During an online visit, HeyDoctor may require you to take a photo of your face, government issued ID, or an otherwise relevant photo (eg. a photo of your cheek during an Acne Diagnosis visit).

HeyDoctor currently requires you to take a photo during your visit, you cannot upload a photo that you've already taken.

To take a photo, you will first need to be using a device that has a camera, like a laptop, iPhone, or Android phone.

You can use your phone's internet browser (Safari or Chrome), to navigate to https://app.heydoctor.co/login or you can download the app, called "HeyDoctor" in the app store.

Once you've logged in to your account from the new device, start a new visit or resume your current one. You can resume your current visit by going to "Visit History" and hitting "Resume Visit" next to your current visit. Now you can take a picture directly from this new device!

When you open the app, your phone will ask you if it's ok for HeyDoctor to use your camera. Hit "Yes"!

If you've denied permission for HeyDoctor app to access your camera, here are some tips and troubleshooting techniques, broken down by the device type, (computer, iPhone, or Android phone) to help!

Troubleshooting on the app - (iPhone):

Double-check that you've allowed the HeyDoctor app to access your camera.

  1. Go to your Settings and scroll down until you see the HeyDoctor app.
  2. Click on the app and allow Camera access

Taking photos on the app - (Android):

Try changing the settings on the HeyDoctor app. To do this, you’ll need Android 6.0 Marshmallow or a newer version on your device.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap “Apps” under the Device heading to get started.

2. You’ll see a list of all the apps installed on your Android device. Click the HeyDoctor app in the list to view more information.

3. Click “Permissions"

4. Click "Camera" and then give HeyDoctor app permission to access your phone's camera.

Taking photos on a computer or internet browser on your phone:

We strongly recommend using either Chrome or Safari to complete your visit. Browsers like Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, and Firefox are not supported.

Google Chrome Browser

  1. Open Chrome .
  2. At the top right, click More Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
  4. Under "Privacy and security," click Content settings.
  5. Click Camera or Microphone.
  6. Turn Ask before accessing on or off. To remove an existing exception or permission, to the left of the site, click Delete.

If you're using a Chrome device at work or school, your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings for you. In that case, you can't change them here and will have to contact your administrator or use a different device to take a photo.

Safari Browser

  1. Go to your Mac's System Preferences and Open Flash Player

2. Click the "Updates" tab and make sure you have the latest update. Then go to the “Camera and Mic” tab and open “Camera and Microphone Settings by Site...” dialog

3. Change configuration to “Allow” for target website by pressing the "+" at the bottom left corner. Then enter "https://app.heydoctor.co/" into the text box and hit "Add" to save your settings.
