Setting a quit date for about two weeks away can give you a chance to mentally prepare to quit and also gives the medication time to build up in your system. If you're using bupropion and nicotine replacement, try using gum or lozenges or nasal spray instead of smoking. We find that if you can cut back to about a quarter of your original use, it's easier to stay completely off tobacco when your quit date rolls around. Try to get down to a quarter of previous use before the quit date with Chantix as well.
