This service is for men and women ages 18-60 who are seeking vitamin D level screening and treatment.
The United States Preventive Service Task Force reports that there is insufficient evidence to recommend for or against screening people who are at low risk. Currently, higher risk is defined as individuals with low vitamin D intake, decreased absorption, low sun exposure, those with darker skin, or those who are obese.
Since it can be very hard to determine who is at risk, we will ask you questions to assess your risk factors and them offer you the option of testing. If your test results indicate you have insufficient vitamin D, we will also prescribe treatment and discuss the risks and benefits of treatment.
